The Peer Outreach team at City Hall, in partnership with People’s Palace Projects & Queen Mary University are running a free conference aimed at all those who work with looked after children and care leavers for National Care leavers week 2015.
Through interactive presentations and discussions the day invites everyone, young people in care and the professionals working with them, to collectively reflect on the needs of a care system in the 21st Century. Examples of positive practice throughout London will be drawn upon to create a genuine learning opportunity for all attendees to collaborate, innovate and consider how to transform the lives of the young people they work with.
The day will include:
Verbatim performances based on the voices of young Londoners in care.
How young people from Havering reinvented the Children in Care Council to begin to transform their experience of Care.
Who is this for?
Everyone who works with Looked After children and care leavers from, directors/heads of services, foster carers, social workers and mentors to voluntary, HE and FE sector staff and leads and the young people themselves.

Bring an open mind and a desire to improve the experience of young people in care.
